To avoid any breaks while you record with the application, make sure that there are no other applications running in the background that can affect the functionality of the software. I have encountered the same error, and the way I fixed it was the one mentioned here. Another solution is to apply more power to the process. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC, then locate the process in the Processes list. Right click it and change its Affinity and Priority.

The PxHelper is a service used by the Sonic RecordNow. Users encountered problems when an attempt was to install this on newer versions of Windows. You might need to obtain a new version of the software in order to have the compatibility increased with newer versions of Windows. You can obtain a copy of the application from its official website. It's not free and purchasing is necessary to be able to download it.

To diagnose the application's functionality, first close all the running applications and then perform a fresh install of RecordNow. It's possible that there are conflicting applications preventing RecordNow to run properly. A fresh install could fix this issue.

No, Sonic RecordNow is not compatible with Windows 8. It is compatible with Windows 2000, 95, and 98. However, you can use another application like Nero or Ashampoo Burning Studio for all the CD and DVD burning operations.

I had a Dell computer with Sonic RecordNow. I saved all my music files to a backup disk. I am now trying to play them in Windows Media Player which is a built-in application from Windows 7 and it does not recognize it. What can I do to get Windows Media Player to play my music?

Answer by Stephen Prastman

The PHJ format is used only by Sonic RecordNow!. In most cases, a codec is necessary for the Windows Media Player to recognize additional file formats, but even if you do install codecs, Windows Media Player will not recognize it because it's a proprietary file format. You will need to export all your files to another format (WMV, MP3, AVI, etc.).

You can check Software's Informer database for applications that you can use to rip audio data from your storage discs. You can switch between Free and Paid listing using the Free only button.

The RecordNow! program had made a copy of a DVD to the hard drive when an automatic update and restart occurred. I can't find the files on my computer so that I can copy them to the blank DVD and have them removed from the hard drive. The files are taking up 4400MB of space and I just can't find them.

There is a very easy way to check the temporary files on your computer. Go to Start > Run > and type the following syntax %temp%. The next folder path should open where all the temporary files are stored: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp where USERNAME is the account's name logged on the computer. You can find the temporary files in the RecordNow! folder or a custom generated folder.

Can you tell me if Sonic Record 7.3 is using the same interface as its older versions?

D
Answer by Dan Angel

No, the interface is a little bit changed, but it is still user-friendly. Unfortunately, you no longer can download and install Sonic RecordNow because it has been discontinued and it is no longer supported. I recommend you check the database of Software Informer for an alternative solution.
