The PHJ format is used only by Sonic RecordNow!. In most cases, a codec is necessary for the Windows Media Player to recognize additional file formats, but even if you do install codecs, Windows Media Player will not recognize it because it's a proprietary file format. You will need to export all your files to another format (WMV, MP3, AVI, etc.).
You can check Software's Informer database for applications that you can use to rip audio data from your storage discs. You can switch between Free and Paid listing using the Free only button.
The RecordNow! program had made a copy of a DVD to the hard drive when an automatic update and restart occurred. I can't find the files on my computer so that I can copy them to the blank DVD and have them removed from the hard drive. The files are taking up 4400MB of space and I just can't find them.

There is a very easy way to check the temporary files on your computer. Go to Start > Run > and type the following syntax %temp%. The next folder path should open where all the temporary files are stored: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp where USERNAME is the account's name logged on the computer. You can find the temporary files in the RecordNow! folder or a custom generated folder.
RecordNow! is not developed and deployed as an active application anymore. This application comes pre-installed with your IBM powered system. It was never made available as a single CD-ROM.

No, the interface is a little bit changed, but it is still user-friendly. Unfortunately, you no longer can download and install Sonic RecordNow because it has been discontinued and it is no longer supported. I recommend you check the database of Software Informer for an alternative solution.

This question has already been tackled here.
Note: The program was working probably in compatibility mode before you format the PC.
